Tell us about yourself as an artist/musician. What do you do?
I write songs, play guitar, and occasionally sing, play bass and piano. That’s all I do.
How long have you been making music, and what sparked your interest in music?
I‘ve been making music for about nine years now. When I started playing guitar, I thought that I had to learn how to write my own songs to be able to play. I soon realized that wasn’t the case as many people learn to play just for them to play their favorite songs.
Tell us about your time at NOMU so far? Do you have a favorite memory or experience during your time here?
It’s been good so far. I enjoy what I learn here and think of the friends that I made along the way. Working and collaborating with them is a plus to what I’m learning anyway. It’s nice to be busy and keep your musicianship skills up to par.
When you're writing or playing music, what influences constantly inspire you as a musician/artist (specific artist, film, art piece, etc.)?
Certain emotions, but also my surroundings, inspire it as well. I mostly write in my room, but I tend to write towards the end of the day as you unload everything you went through. When I’m writing, I usually do it in front of the T.V. while watching something. That’s generally influencing me consciously, or I might have a general idea in mind.
What are your plans or goals in your life now concerning school, music, or just personally, any other pursuits?
It would be nice to be an artist in terms of writing music or being part of some sort of film. I have yet to do any work inside the film industry, but it would be cool to pursue that.
Any hobbies outside of music that you're interested in?
No. I just have a general interest in the arts. That’s pretty much what I spend most of my time doing.
Is there anything you’d like to add, anything you want to tell whoever might be reading this interview, or anything you want people to know about you?
I’m sorry. That’s what I want to tell everyone.
I decided to do something interesting for the website where you get to ask the next person who I’m taking photos a question, what would you like to ask the next artist?
Why do you keep trying? (See Amir Pourmehdi’s interview for his answer to Nick’s question)
