Tell us about yourself as an artist/musician. What do you do?

For the most part, I am a guitar player; it’s the instrument that I’m most known for. I also play bass, a little keyboard, and sing backup vocals. I am also a songwriter; writing my own originals as well as working with others.

How long have you been making music, and what sparked your interest in music?

I started playing guitar at eight years old thanks to private lessons, and have been making music ever since. I’ve been writing as much as I can over the years. When I started, it was a lot of instrumentals, but now I’m writing lyrics and full songs. Since I was ten years old, I’ve been in various bands writing and performing original music along with some covers. I was also fortunate to tour for two summers with the Steve Miller Band as a guest artist. All of that inspired me to pursue a career in music.

Tell us about your time at NOMU so far? Do you have a favorite memory or experience during your time here?

I started in the Spring of 2020, right before the pandemic. Before that, I worked a full-time job, which I left because I wasn’t in the place where I wanted to be. I actually really like being here working with NOMU because it feels like a community. It was cool to work with tons of different musicians in every music genre and learn from each other. So being in MIS-1 working with all these artists was the highlight for me while being at Norco.

When you're writing or playing music, what influences constantly inspire you as a musician/artist (specific artist, film, art piece, etc.)?

My main influence regarding the rock sound is bands like My Chemical Romance, Green Day, and Guns N' Roses. However, I’ve been really influenced by bands like The 1975. My goal is to be genreless, so I listen to and get inspiration from everything from Indie Rock to Rap. I’m a big fan of Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean, and Mac Miller. Even stuff like video game and film soundtracks influence me to write more music and get out of the box.

What are your plans or goals in your life now concerning school, music, or just personally, any other pursuits?

I’m looking to gain my producing experience. My goal is to produce for different artists as much as possible. So I want to learn how to record artists properly and help them to create songs to the best they can be. I’ve been working with as many different artists as I can to learn as much as possible. I'm also hoping that through NOMU I can find internships and work opportunities.

Any hobbies outside of music that you're interested in?

I’m a big fan of watching movies and anime. I’ve gotten into rock climbing from a few of my friends, so that’s been interesting. Other than that, I’ve recently started playing some video games, but between classes, writing, and work - I haven’t gotten to play them very often.

When you play video games, what do you play?

I’ve been playing Little Nightmares recently, and also liked games like Last of Us and Death Stranding. A big part of it is also me focusing on the soundtracks from the games.

Is there anything you’d like to add, anything you want to tell whoever might be reading this interview, or anything you want people to know about you?

Keep an eye out for my music. I’m excited to learn as much as I can and where I go from here—producing as much as possible and working with other artists. And if anyone is looking for help with a project, hit me up!
