Tell us about yourself as an artist/musician. What do you do?
I am a bilingual singer, I sing in both English and Spanish, and I’m currently one of the vocalist in a small band called So-Decide.
How long have you been making music, and what sparked your interest in music?
I’ve been singing since I was around two years old and my interest in music was first sparked by my dad since he would often sing to me when I was young. I think his influence is what soon made me decide at a young age that I wanted music in my life.
Tell us about your time at NOMU so far. Do you have a favorite memory or experience during your time here?
My time in NOMU has been one of the most memorable experiences, and I’ve considered it a great blessing and opportunity to be able to learn and work with so many different people. I think my favorite experience overall has been being able to hear the music that I’ve helped create on Spotify because it’s given me a lot of inspiration and made me realize that there are higher goals I want to reach.
When you're writing or playing music, what influences constantly inspire you as a musician/artist (specific artist, film, art piece, etc.)?
I’ve always admired artists such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Demi Lovato, and Arianna Grande so when I comes to my own performances I look for inspiration in their work and others similar to it. I also find inspiration from different types of texts such as movies and books, but I think overall my personal experiences are what influence my music the most.
What are your plans or goals in your life now concerning school, music, or just personally, any other pursuits?
Currently, I’m preparing to go on a mission, so I’ll be serving the Lord for around 18 months, but when I return I plan to continue with my journey of making my music into a career.
Are there any hobbies outside of music that you're interested in?
I’ve always enjoyed doing things that allow my creativity to run wild, so outside of music, my second hobby would have to be drawing. I draw mainly to get the things that I don’t know how to express in music off my chest as well as it helps me focus.
I decided to do something interesting for the website where the last artist I interviewed can ask you a question. The last person I interviewed was Andrea Toledo and the question was, "What is your favorite animal?"
My favorite animal is a turtle because it was my first pet and has been with me since I was little. Not to mention I love the determination that turtles have and they also represent protection and health.
Keep in mind; you also get to ask the next artist a question, so what would you like to ask the next artist that I interview?
What was the moment you decided that music was going to be part of your life? (See Tim Sowa's interview for the answer to Francis' question)
